Large Storm Sweeps Throughout the U.S. Bringing Heavy Snow, Thunderstorms, and Lots of of Flight Cancellations

A robust winter storm will convey heavy snow, lengthy thunderstorms, flooding, and tornadoes to a big swath of the US.

Forecasters anticipate tornadoes within the South and snow within the Midwest because the storm barrels east.

“A robust storm will sweep by the Japanese half of the U.S. by the top of this week with a number of hazards,” the Nationwide Climate Service stated in a press release.  “A slender zone of heavy snow and a wintry combine is predicted from the south-central Plains to the Nice Lakes. Extreme thunderstorms with damaging winds and some sturdy tornadoes from the Decrease Mississippi Valley to the Southeast, particularly within the Tennessee Valley and Mid South.”

The storm has resulted in a whole lot of flight cancellations which might be concentrated in Chicago, Detroit, Kansas Metropolis, and St. Louis.

Over 925 flights have been cancelled in the US as of 12:30 p.m. EST on Thursday.

The storm already introduced heavy rain from Michigan to Missouri.

On Thursday, rain within the Midwest and the Nice Lakes was anticipated to vary to ice and snow by noon. In the meantime, heavy rain would proceed for parts of the Tennessee and Ohio valleys.

Extreme thunderstorms with heavy winds will rock the Southeast and influence main metropolitan areas together with Birmingham, Jackson, Little Rock, Louisville, Memphis, and Nashville.  Forecasters warn of the opportunity of tornadoes in parts of Mississippi and Alabama.

The storm will hit the East Coast Thursday night with heavy rain within the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic whereas snow is predicted in New England.  Heavy winds throughout the I-95 hall may down bushes and end in energy outages.

The storm must be off shore by 9 a.m. EST Friday.
